Shenzhen, China — iQOO officially launched the iQOO 16 on September 29, 2026, positioning it as a “technology performance flagship” that aims to deliver Pro Max-level hardware in a standard-series model. The phone goes on sale immediately after the launch, with prices starting at 5,999 yuan for the 12GB+256GB version. 1, 2
The iQOO 16 is among the first devices to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, built on TSMC’s 2nm process. It is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra memory, UFS 4.1 storage, and iQOO’s new Monster Ultra Core Engine, which includes a self-developed scheduler designed to improve frame stability and power efficiency under heavy workloads. 1, 10
A major highlight is the display. The phone debuts a 6.85-inch 2K 165Hz Samsung “Everest” display, co-developed by iQOO and Samsung Display. It is the first Android phone to use Samsung’s M16发光 material and 2K LEAD 2.0 technology, reaching up to 2,800 nits global peak brightness and 10,000 nits local peak brightness, while claiming lower power consumption than comparable 1.5K panels. 1, 5

For gaming, iQOO introduced its “3+2 Gaming Technology Framework”, combining graphics, control, and tuning foundations with cross-device gaming and live-streaming scenarios. The device features the self-developed Q4 gaming chip, which supports full-scene ray tracing, game super-resolution, and super frame rate upscaling. iQOO says it can enable 2K + 165FPS super-resolution and super frame concurrency on several popular mobile titles. 1, 3
The phone also brings PC-style optimizations to mobile, including the Q-flex control technology, a self-developed PC game simulator, and a large-screen gaming space mode for casting. iQOO has partnered with Unreal Engine to integrate advanced graphics technologies into future iQOO hardware and software planning. 1
On the camera side, the iQOO 16 uses a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main sensor, a 50MP Sony periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide lens, supported by vivo’s NICE 3.0 optical reconstruction engine and HDR processing. Battery capacity is rated at 8,400mAh, with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. 2, 3
The device runs OriginOS 7, supports IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, and includes an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and a dual-axis haptic motor. It is also named the official device for the KPL Annual Finals, reinforcing iQOO’s long-standing presence in mobile esports. 1, 10
